Repairing shoes — resole, sew, maintain

Good shoes have become expensive. Shoemakers let them live a second and third life.

A pair of leather shoes can quickly cost 200–400 €. Resoling starts at 50 €.

What shoemakers can do

- New sole: 40–100 €. - Heel tip: 10–25 €. - Repairing inner lining. - Sewing up tears in the seams. - Cleaning and resoling sneakers — there are specialists for this too.

Which shoes are worth it

- Goodyear-welted leather shoes: Can be resoled 5–10 times. - Hiking boots: Specialists can re-vulcanize them. - Pumps and boots: Replace the heel.

Maintenance Basics

1. Use shoe trees after wearing. 2. Apply cream every 2–4 weeks. 3. Waterproof before the rainy season. 4. Do not wear the same shoes two days in a row.

Shoes fall under the Textile EPR and the future product passport (from 2027).

A shoe that knows you is more comfortable than any new one.
